Your First Visit

On your first visit you will fill out some basic paperwork so the doctor can get a better idea of your health situation, to help you get better faster.

You will then sit down, one-on-one with Dr. Hutson and discuss your condition. The doctor will examine your ranges of motion, and perform any relevant neurological and orthopedic tests, and possibly take x-rays if they are indicated.

After your exam the doctor will sit down with you and explain what's causing your pain and/or condition, what can be done to help you, and how long it will take. In most cases your first treatment will follow immediately.

NOTE: X-rays are necessary in certain cases due to the complexity of a patient's condition. Chiropractors look at x-rays differently than medical doctors do. When a medical doctor looks at an x-ray they want to know: 1) Is it broken? 2) Is there a disease present?. Chiropractors look at those two things as well, but also want to know how the form affects the function. For example: if a patient has one leg shorter than the other, this will affect the hips, pelvis, and back. Pain can be referred from one part of the body to another. This is why chiropractors prefer x-rays taken while standing up as opposed to laying down. By taking a standing x-ray, it helps the doctor to see what is causing or contributing to the problem. This allows the doctor to better aid you in your recovery and help you get better, faster.
